WHO WE ARE:
We are a prayerful, lively and bustling center of Christian fellowship and discipleship. Through dynamic worship, multi-generational and multi-cultural programming, and continued social service, we come together from all walks of life not only on Sunday mornings, but during the week as well, to share the gospel of Christ. We offer a multitude of programs and services for everyone from singles and couples to children, youth, senior citizens, and families.
At St. Stephen’s, we are an inclusive family of faith, whose members bring with them a diverse and rich blend of social, cultural, and economic backgrounds and religious understandings each time we gather - whether it's on Sunday mornings or throughout the week. It's this inclusive spirit that appeals to those who want their spiritual life to reflect and help them deal with the real world - who want to enrich their world through involvement. St. Stephen’s attracts singles, couples, and families from all over, offering them a warm reception and an exciting and safe place to strengthen both their personal faith and their understanding of others.
We invite you to learn more about who we are by navigating our site.
WHERE WE WORSHIP:
At the center of the village of Amachara, situated right on the express way and not far from the capital of Abia State, Nigeria, is a church that reflects the diversity not only of Amachara but the world beyond it as well. It is a church where the signs of renewal, growth and joy are as evident as the cultural tapestry of the surrounding villages and towns that comprise Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, Nigeria.
WHEN WE WORSHIP:
Give us part of your Sunday morning, and we'll give you the rest of the week to think about:
- your warm welcome
- our dynamic music and educational programs
- the diversity of people
- the magnificent setting, and
- Our Pastor’s powerful messages that give you spiritual energy to face the challenges of the week ahead and beyond.
Childcare for infants and toddlers is also available during the worship hour.
We look forward to seeing you next Sunday! Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 8:00 am. Adult education classes and children and youth classes meet throughout the week.
THOSE WE SERVE:
St. Stephen’s has been in the forefront of ministering to the needs of its surrounding community. It has established a Church School, within which members can educate their children; St. Stephen’s provides classroom instructions, clothing, food and shelter for its children and ministers to them.
In the turbulent days of the Nigerian civil war, St. Stephen’s provided shelter and spiritual programs for its children and spiritually sustained its members through its ministries. St. Stephen’s does not discriminate against the poor or the needy; it welcomes all who come to it. It continues to open its sanctuary to the spiritually thirsty and needy, 365 days a year. St. Stephen’s challenges young men to grow in spiritual strength and encourages its women to reach out and nurture communities around it. cleaning, mentoring, and teaching the children and
young adults of St. Stephen's.
The women are up and early every Friday, beginning at
